I first became interested in the connection between brain and behaviour in 1997 when I began my undergraduate degree in Neuroscience. On completion of this course I decided to pursue a career in Psychology and subsequently worked as a support worker and then assistant psychologist whilst I completed an MSc Psychology. These experiences allowed me to then complete a doctorate in clinical psychology at Royal Holloway, University of London. I worked in the NHS for the first five years post graduation, focussing on child, adolescent and family services in both London and Oxford. Since that time I have been working exclusively with private clients providing therapy, training for social workers and foster carers and also research for two charities.

Therapy – I provide individual therapy to clients ranging from children to adults who present with a variety of presenting and problems and therapeutic needs.

Training – I provide training for the West London Alliance, which is a group of nine councils based in London. My trainings focus understanding how life events and experiences impact on how we see and interact with the world individual and systemic interventions to support others in creating positive change in their lives and Life Story Work.

Research – As part of my doctorate in clinical psychology I completed a thesis on the impact of significant past events on current well-being. This is based in the area of Positive Psychology, which focuses on we grow from our experiences and then flourish. My interest in this area has continued in my work with the charity Combat Stress, as an associate researcher, focussing on Posttraumatic Growth in veterans. I am also working as lead researcher with The Crito Project charity, examining the impact of degree level Philosophy courses on inmates in prisons.
